Moving into a new place always comes with a sense of starting fresh.
But sometimes, it also comes with unexpected discoveries.
While cleaning under the bed in my new rental, I found something I couldn’t immediately identify—an old metal object, dusty and tucked far out of sight, as if it had been deliberately hidden.
Out of curiosity, I picked it up and turned the handle.
The mechanism responded slowly, with rods spreading apart in a way that felt mechanical but unsettling.
It didn’t resemble anything familiar, and the more I examined it, the more my imagination filled in the blanks.
It seemed too specific, too purposeful to be random—and for a moment, my thoughts drifted toward darker possibilities.
Unable to shake the feeling, I spent hours searching for answers, comparing images and descriptions online.
